Originally established in 1976, the society had a name change in the early eighties and also became incorporated, thus becoming the Taree Artists Inc., a not for profit organisation for artists and those interested in the arts.
Through hard work and dedication of the volunteers, the group has developed to become a valued asset to the Manning community, with currently over 90 members. Exhibitions, displays, workshops & outings are a few of the activities that occur throughout the year. Please check our “Calendar” for further details of these events.
Support for our society has come from various sources, including our patrons, Dr. Colin Rose OAM, Mrs Mave Richardson AM PSM and Valley Industries Skills for Life, who have provided us with a permanent space in which to hold meetings and workshops.
Our meetings are held the 3rd Wednesday of the month (not December), commencing at 9.30 am at our meeting room in the Skills For Life Building, 5-9 Elizabeth Street, TAREE:
- Members receive a monthly newsletter;
- Have access to art books and DVDs from our library;
- Can attend workshops at a reduced fee;
- Have the opportunity to participate in “Members Only” exhibitions and displays.
